The Oxford Academy (previously Peers School) had seen some incredible improvements, not only with the school itself but also the student grades.
Our aim had been to reposition The Oxford Academy in the minds of the people of Oxfordshire, addressing their prejudices and the historic reputation of the school. The “It’ll always be Peers really…” mentality of some had to be acknowledged before we could effectively alter their perception. The approach of the campaign would be to ‘own’ the negative perceptions and challenge them head-on.
And so we named the campaign “You’ll Be Amazed”
Creating a series of campaigns under that title, we featured poster children from the school. We interviewed students studying at The Oxford Academy, inviting them to talk about their time at the school. We wanted to know what they love about the school and how much of a positive impact it has made to them. We then featured their stories within our campaign key messages.
The campaign encourages people to drop in for a tour of the school, and to read the student stories in further detail. Each story depicted experiences of pastoral care, academic achievement, sports success and more.
The stories formed bus advertisements, newspaper advertisements, radio advertisements. They were also shared on social media, encouraging people to click through and read the student stories.
We thoroughly enjoyed working with The Oxford Academy and helping to change Oxford’s perception of this incredible school.
“Working with Clear & Creative for our latest publicity campaign has been really great and they have had a genuine impact. They have certainly come up with Clear and Creative ideas. They have been very pro-active and immediately understood what we were trying to achieve. We have enjoyed working with them as they are genuinely helpful and friendly.”
