We’ve worked for Oxford City Council on a number of projects such as a Rent Reminder campaign, an E-billing campaign, a Tenancy Fraud Amnesty campaign and more. So, when they approached us to work with them again on a new internal organisation development initiative – we were happy to help out!
At the time of the project, the structure of the Council had been changing, with sections of the current services being divided into separate ‘companies’, often with their own names and operational structures. The Council planned to also increase partnership working with other authorities and bodies over the next few years. However, the Council planned on remaining the overall body, and the purpose of the Team Oxford brand is to promote unity across the services.
Promoting team work and unity within the Oxford City council
Our aim had been to promote and encourage a joined up approach across all company structures and partners. In essence, ‘we may have different names, but we’re still one team’.
We wanted team members of the Oxford City Council to engage differently, adopt new ways of working and learn new skills to influence, negotiate and communicate to ensure positive outcomes.
Thus we chose the strapline ‘we’re in this together.’
Through the visual branding and marketing communications, we wanted to encourage innovation and problem-solving with employees
Developing mind-sets which challenge existing ways of working no matter how seemingly insignificant. Questioning ‘how we work’ will be an essential day to day practice.
Our logo design concept communicated working together as a team in unity. The logo uses subtle visuals of a puzzle piece, representing the members of the team ‘fitting together’ as one. The vibrancy and boldness of the colours will help the brand to be well recognised and memorable, having its own identity.
We produced a series of marketing material – leaflets, posters, roller banners and presenters all under the the Team Oxford brand identity that we created.
As always, it’s been a pleasure working for the council and we hope Team Oxford will make a positive impact!
